Many modern drain cleaners, like Draino, contain harsh chemicals that can dissolve and corrode cast iron pipes over time, so is there a cast iron pipe that has a protective layer of glass on the inside? Glass sand can be applied to the cast iron, which is then heated that melts that glass, and rolled so that the melted glass coats evenly on the inside of the iron pipe. This glassy layer will protect against corrosive chemicals.

would people a 100 years later think "people a hundred years ago glued plastic pipes using glue, and laid them in the ground. Now it has created more work for us to fix"
