I've propagated a dozen different plants but this one just won't happen for me. I'm using all the methods I've had success with elsewhere and always end with a dead vine.

I've tried right into soil, right into water. Letting a cutting dry overnight. Dabbing rooting hormones on it. Sharing a cup with other rooting plants. Nothing!

So if you've had success, what did you do? Did you find it any harder to propagate than others?

It's so interesting how different plants cause issues for different people. I really like monsteras of all kinds but can't maintain a peace lily to save my life.

I cut back my adansoniis regularly and usually propagate the cuttings with leaves in water and the bare sticks in perlite.
I change the water weekly and rinse the roots whenever I do to keep them from getting slimy. Perlite I spray almost daily, or cover it to trap moisture if I'm not able to tend to it regularly. Cuttings can rot if left covered, but sometimes I get to discover a jungle in a forgotten propagation box after a few months.

After I can see decent roots, I pot the cuttings up and keep the soil lightly damp for a week or two until they acclimate.
I haven't noticed much difference when propagating variegated adansonii, but some of the mints are slower to regrow.

    I somehow missed this, sorry!

I had 4 in water when I posted this and 3 wilted away. The last one sprung a decent root almost overnight and now it's doing fine back in the soil.

I'm really wondering if it's just the genes in this specific plant. I've been thinking about getting a "mystery box" of rooted cuttings from some established Etsy shop and those usually include adansonii so I'll give it a try if it does
