Why in the hell would you build an operation that requires biblical levels of water in a drought prone area? It seems the harm being done is more incompetence than actual malice.

    Call me tinfoil hats, but likely it was done to chip regulations away. The techbros behind AI think any regulation is unneeded, because people are all rational actors, and bad stuff will be just boycotted, except they want to make boycotts illegal (today I'm also getting called "picky" for not liking Windows, etc.).
