I never watched Parks & Rec, only knew of Offerman from the memes. I was also surprised to learn he was progressive. On an unrelated note, his role in HBO's The Last of Us was great!

He wrote a book a while ago called 'Paddle Your Own Canoe', it's where I learned he is really not like Ron Swanson at all, outside of the woodworking. It's funny how many people think he believes the same things a character he played does.

He genuinely does seem like a very good person and role model.

He's done some writing and speaking on his brand of progressive masculinity. A childhood friend got really into it in high school. He seems to be a pretty good guy by all accounts.
