I’m pretty into coffee myself; buy different beans, roast my own beans etc., and honestly their dark roast (when it’s fresh), is actually decent I get people have issues with the brand overall, but the coffee itself isn’t nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Everything else you said I agree with. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 5 child comments replies: [–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 2 points 7 months ago* The coffee is the worst part. It tastes like chewing popsicle sticks. Hardly a wonder the triple-triple is so popular. Dark Roast was Tims answer to losing their coffee supplier to McDonalds. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] renhogan@lemmy.ca [S] 2 points 7 months ago (1 child) I guess it’s preference and everyone has different palates. Personally I don’t like A&W or McDonalds coffee. I cannot drink Tim’s Original roast though, tastes like watered down coffee. Their dark roast is the only one I can drink. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 2 points 7 months ago The Tims normal coffee is terrible...people order it for the double cream double sugar I guess permalink fedilink source parent [–] dis_honestfamiliar@lemmy.sdf.org 1 point 7 months ago (1 child) I would be surprised if the service was great when the pay is terrible. I guess that's another I'll scratch off my list. Months ago I was down in Mexico and the only choices were some no name location, Starbucks, and Tim Hortons. Since Starbucks won't grant meet the union on a fair contract, I scratched that off my list. The no name location didn't have any coffee taste even after extra coffe. Probably using instant coffee. Who knows. Tim Hortons was the best I had there. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] rabber@lemmy.ca 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) Tim hortons literally abuses immigrants and the temporary foreign worker program which affects everyone's wages in the entire country. I am Canadian and anti US but I would way rather give Starbucks my money than Singh Hortons. Tim Hortons, I believe, is a big reason why people are so racist towards Indians anymore in Canada. But what can you expect from them. Imagine being scammed into moving to this country and being paid less than minimum wage to serve people literal garbage. Meanwhile your visa is ticking down and you're gonna get booted out of the country anyway. I would give poor service too. At least the people working at starbucks near me seem to actually enjoy their lives. Lol. permalink fedilink source parent [–] TimboSlice@discuss.online -1 points 7 months ago (2 children) So it's like Canadian Starbucks? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] texture@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago (1 child) yes, but worse in literally every way, other than affordability to the consumer permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] TimboSlice@discuss.online 2 points 7 months ago Yikes permalink fedilink source parent [–] rabber@lemmy.ca 3 points 7 months ago They don't hire Canadians. Fuck tim hortons permalink fedilink source parent [–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 1 point 7 months ago An example, I was on a road trip after a flight, Tims was the only thing open at a roadside stop. I ordered a multigrain bagel. It had zero taste and the texture of sawdust and cardboard. It was so bad I tossed half of it in the garbage. While I like good food, I will also just eat what is available, but this was so terrible I couldn't finish it. permalink fedilink source parent
