what five years of computer science will do to you(rate my gentoo setup :3)@unixsocks

Person holding a Kuromi plush and a pink controller, wearing striped thigh high socks and resting their legs on a desk with a large monitor and a laptop running Gentoo Linux with bspwm. On screen there is code, btop, fastfetch, Niko from Oneshot and multiplayer SM64 with a Hatsune Miku skin.

@alsaaas @Gwen I've actually looked a bit into fish before, but didn't switchdoes the lack of posix compliance not cause issues in practice? like, has it ever broke some script you wanted to run?

It's its own language, but it doesn't break existing e.g. bash scripts because you declare them to be bash with #!/bin/bash in the first line right? So your shell doesn't matter. Also you can always nest shells and just run bash if you really need it

You just shouldn't set it as your login shell because of that, they have tutorials on that on their website and the Arch wiki explains it too
