I've literally heard over 5 people over a few months (professionals in their fields) say FLUSHED out when referring to ideas or concepts. It drives me insane. I blame TikTok! No i have no idea what is causing it. My SO has noticed it as well.

There was a time when language pedants just used Latin so they wouldn't be bothered how living languages change all the time.

Modern pedants prefer the "old man shakes fist at cloud" style of bemoaning change they notice in the world.
