So the the language of Mamdani's recent Vision Zero document describes the targetted vehicles as "larger passenger vehicles." This video wasn't released by his office and the producer of the video may have used the word "SUV" to characterize these vehicles to make the video more click-baity.

Light trucks, by definition, utilize a solid steel frame underneath.
The USA does not have any domestic manufacturing for anything but "monster truck" light trucks.
YES YES YES PRAISE
do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it
I understand the point, but this is also some nonsense. Some compact SUVs are smaller than sedans. Just because the letters SUV are in the name, doesnt mean its heavier or larger than a normal car. Do it by weight and size, not an arbitrary sales gimmicks and titles.
Cool. Those vehicles are too big.
Good that's smarter than my plan of outright banning heavy vehicles that aren't actively engaging in work or delivery.
WTF have previous mayors been doing?
Sounds good to me. Gotta slowly take Manhattan back from the cars. Just wish the plan included my part of Park Ave 🙃
Yeah, it's tremendous. Compared to the other things we spend money on that are very expensive and take a long time, this one makes sense.
Boring through the earth begins once the 500-foot-long boring machine is fully assembled by the end of 2026. It will take 40 workers to crew and cut through 30-35 feet of solid rock per day. It’s a big change from the last tunnel project - done with hand tools more than 100 years ago.
This is cool. The scale of a project like this feels difficult to understand properly. Just assembling the boring machine, wow.
Yeah, I imagine it'll be "affordable" by NYC standards since its in White Plains and still pricey. Regardless, great so see a new housing project in the region.
Sounds nice -- I suppose it'll be pricey. Still good to get more housing in and around the city, especially near major train stations.
I could think of hundreds of transit improvement projects in NYC alone that this kind of money would be better used for
vanity bullshit aside, we just got done building Moynihan Train Hall. If you don't like the dingy Penn Station you can board Amtrak from there instead. this is so many layers of fucked.
If the current station is working fine the feds should give the money to a local transit project that actually really needs money. Like one of the rail lines being built out across the country.
Nothing says train station like an attached gold ballroom.
