If you need to boil water on the stove but you want to minimize heating the house/apartment, boil it in the kettle or microwave first then transfer to stove (toast.ooo)

Some food preparation can’t be done fully in the microwave, this has helped me minimize radiating heat into the apartment during hot days lately.

I don't know if this is common knowledge, but not all refrigerators nowadays are magnetic. When going out shopping for one, bringing a small fridge magnet can help you easily rule some models out if you care about that.
