It shows things you're supposed to not like in red, and things you're supposed to like in green. What if I want to be skeptical and enjoy a succulent read of a far-right manifesto? /s
If Alibaba is not there as part of a governmental bid to destabilise the US, I don't even understand what do they do it for
Thank you!! I appreciate hearing that c:
Are you routinely trying different expensive enterprise distros?
Opensuse is not managed by the company.
I have a thinkpad p1 g5, it supports both, I've tried to use newer one and it required me to tinker with it, it still consumed more power and there was always a worry about leaving it. s2ram just works, reliably.
10% is small? Wat? If someone reduced your salary by 10%, would you just go "oh, that's minimal! I won't even notice it!"?
And they aren't saying the market is getting smaller. Nowhere does phoronix report that. You're just making stuff up. With a more efficient workforce they should be able to pay more, get more work done, and handle more customers with the sane amount of people.
No. What they are doing is spreading the same work over fewer people who aren't getting a pay raise, meaning 10% decrease in personnel costs, which the upper management can pocket.
So what about it looks like propaganda? Why can't you take it seriously? The font? The colours? The paragraph structure? All you've said is you don't like it without even saying what you don't like. If it's not the words what is it?
Can't you read? It looks like propaganda and I don't like the look of it. I cannot recommend this site because of it, because it doesn't look like something I can take seriously. I am not talking about the facts.
I guess AMD didn't get the memo that fascism isn't cool anymore
Of it being "cheeky" and "looks like propaganda", you know, the only things you've actually said. It looks like a no nonsense list of factual statements to me, what's so cheeky about that? What about the facts or style of website makes them cheeky? There must be some specific element or combination of elements that make you think that.
the vibe coded part is is pretty unimportant. if it was just a vibe coded distro, it would be quickly forgotten by most Linux users except in memes, and the only people who would use it are the AI tech bro influencers and their vapid followers.
the real issue here is the insane amounts of money many corporations are giving someone who consistently voices racist theories on his blog.
Absolutely agree with all of that. It just always catches me off guard to see it since I mostly avoid the spaces where they gather.
AI is literally a brainwashing machine. It gives you exactly the data it has been trained to give you, in the format it's been trained to use, acting like it comprehensively knows everything even while it omits or refuses to what it's been trained to never talk about, and it is designed to act unbelievably convincing and personable. It's essentially a pre-packaged cult leader in a box, and it should not be surprising that so many people are doing its bidding and worshipping it. But of course "it" doesn't have any wants or needs, it's not trying to take over the world, it's just an obedient patsy for the people pulling its strings. The people who created "it" are the ones we should be worried about.
Those laptops are like 6000-7000 USD, similar to the RTX Spark, while also already getting close to being replaced by Medusa Halo somewhere in 2028.
Example of what? I am talking about the website as a whole, not a specific part.
Best-case scenario existing projects can do actual clean-room reimplementations of what Omarchy makes work. Keeping all the AI-REA and AI-generated code in one distro has it advantages for other distros ;)
You're going to have to give examples, because it reads as a very straightforward statement of facts to me.
Example of what? I'm talking about the entire webpage, not a specific phrase. I'm talking about the style how it is presented (look and how the words are used). It's not a specific example to give, the entire site is not something I would link to.
I didn't get that impression. Can you provide an example?
I think I have a prototype of a browser extension somewhere on my computer whose only function is to hide the comments button on Phoronix.
And it's essentially just preconfigured Arch Linux for people with the attention span of a grapefruit, but who think that they'll impress anyone by installing this nonsense, instead of just going for some standard distro and throwing a random tiling wm onto it...
I would spread this website too, if it was written more seriously and without cheeky style. There are real issues brought up on this page, it's just looks like propaganda that I cannot take it seriously and cannot recommend others to read.
Omarchy itself vibe coded. It integrates all sorts of Ai and LLM into the system for easy use, and to analyze the system with Ai. The slogan was or is "it's for LLM agents". Big Ai supportive companies give this organization millions of money. So all in all, this is a slop distribution, by slop developers, for slop users. As a result the operating system is very unsecure and had lot of issues. Issues that should never be, like default configurations that exposes for no reasons. And it's not like only haters say this, even the developer DHH itself acknowledge this and says it will be better in future. He directly accepts these critics in interviews. As if in if he accepts it it becomes acceptable?
Then the lead developer is DHH, who is very disliked for his unhuman opinions. And we are talking about serious topics here, not a little offtopic joke. Just to add to the fuel.
Somebody want to leak the IP of ASML to China? We desperately need some competition
