Lots of hugs. I know how hard it can be to be in love with someone who probably would love you in that way, except for your gender, genitals, etc., being incompatible with their needs. I hope you can find someone who is more compatible some day. 🫂

Leave her alone. Be civil if you run into her and have to interact, of course. I find that the only way some people can "get over" a relationship is to let anger win. Otherwise, they have to deal with the pain and let their love evolve rather than stamping it out with negative emotions.

I think it's a symptom of toxic monogamy taught by many popular religions and media and accepted in most societies that requires that a person "fall out of love" with a previous partner in order to prove their love for a new person. Personally, I believe most of us are capable of loving multiple people at the same time without diminishing the love for any, but that's not the most common way of thinking. So, most are taught by family, religion, and/or TV to turn to anger or even hate to mask the love they still feel for a previous partner.

i obviously dont have a full picture so I can't comment on the relationship/breakup, people on reddit forget that often. what's important is that you're seeing clearly and giving yourself the time you need to process everything. breakups suck so bad, it can be easy to lose yourself

Just let her be IMO, when people get like that theres really nothing you can do that'll help the situation. Focus on yourself and move along, if she contacts you or anything then great, if not then its in the past. Sorry you had to go through that.

Maybe late here, but here I go: First, being capable of understanding beauty of people being from a certain gender is very different of being attracted to them, and you seem to have noticed that. Second, have you heard about fembutch relationships and history? Do you know what “butch” means? There’s a whole history of lesbians exclusively attracted into masculine women and non-binary people. This group exists with its own culture and History. I can’t stress you enough to learn about those terms and this culture, I’m sure you’ll love it.

So, not only you’re valid as a lesbian, but you’re taking part of a huge lesbian history. Congrats ! :)

It's wild that you refer to the homophobic Christians as popular. In my highschool class there were like 2 people who were openly Christian and went to church. And they were actively debated whenever they opened their mouth about it. They had like 4 friends including each other and that would have dropped to one if they were mean to the one openly gay kid. That was 25 years ago.

That's nothing. I'm so hot and good at sex, I can make you like sex with men that say that they can make you like men and sex.

Seriously though, I had a friend that used to boast that he'd 'turned his girlfriend straight'. She was maybe 19, so any reasonable person would assume she's still figuring herself out. I couldn't get my head around the level of hubris needed to think you have that power. Do these guys truly believe they have literally magical penises?

These people are not well-adjusted. What terribly disrespectful and gross things to say to another human 🤢

I’m sorry you have to deal with that. Please remember you deserve to be respected for who you are as a person, and expect/accept only that from those you associate with, if possible! /gen /pos
