Please forgive, my brain is poorly optimized for understanding physical objects and I haven't used a hammock for 2 years.

I am used to using hammocks with a whoopie sling. I don't really understand the ins & outs of it, it's rote memorization. Anyway I want to use the same type of hammock - nylon, gathered end - with one of those steel tube hammock stands you can put in the yard or on your porch. Do I need a different suspension? If not, where does all the extra rope at the ends of the whoopie sling go, just coiled at the support points of the hammock stand?

I just wanted to try out the idea. I have no trees in my backyard, so this is both neat and useful.

I will try a tensegrity hammock stand next, which only uses 3 poles, but can hold 3 hammocks! I'll probably switch to metal for that 😅

Finally, maybe, I might try a geodesic dome for multiple hammocks. Though it'd have to be pretty big to be worth it over the first two versions.

Swing your legs out one side, stand on stones. The other side? Stand in water 😅

Usually you wouldn't camp so close to water, but this was such a cool spot I couldn't help it. Plus it was on a fairly busy trail, in good weather, so.. 🤷‍♂️

Went for an 8 mile hike yesterday, set up hammocks halfway through to relax for a couple hours. Was a good day.

We passed better spots, closer to the water, better views, etc. But we were pretty tired by the time we set up. Plus we spent some time slightly lost, or at least we missed a trailhead we wanted to take. So we gave up and rested haha

I love stacking hammocks double and triple tall, this was only a double, but still very cool.
