Amazing. I've seen the dragonia knight kit in a few of local shops here but I always passed it. More so because I know they'll run discount sales. From your other post I'm convinced and will be getting one.

But the lord kit I haven't seen yet. Looks amazing. I do have a color scheme I want to paint the dragonia knight into to honor my vtuber oshi lol

I guess it's time I learn how do paint plamo

Youtube and practice (for both the airbrushing and the brush painting). And even then, I would say I still don't know a lot about it (definitely deficient in that practice part).

Some specific videos I watched were:

For brush painting, I essentially transferred skills I learned for miniature painting, and any good video for that will help you with the other. Mr. Hobby Gundam Color paints (semi-gloss) tend to dry to a similar gloss as Bandai's plastic, so I thin those with either a bit of Isopropyl alcohol, Mr. Hobby Acrysion Thinner, or Mr. Color Leveling Thinner.

Another 30MF enjoyer, yay! Do you plan to get the upgrade armor kit? I completely recommend it; plus, it also looks amazing on the knight, giving you more customization options.

Right on, that's cool. It definitely seems difficult to do which is why I've put it off for so long. Lol I have a Xenogears kit that I've wanted to put together but I don't think I'll be able to paint it any time soon, and I can't afford the rate the one guy I know charges for painting.

    What'd you do to learn?

@JigglySackles This is my custom nu (didn't turn out as different color-wise as I would have liked):files.ohai.social/media_attachAnd here's a recent kit I painted some small color corrections on (HG Barbatos Lupus Rex):files.ohai.social/media_attach

@JigglySackles I have done one (1) fully painted custom, and it was an Entry Grade RX-93 Nu Gundam. It was such a headache (even with an airbrush) that I decided that probably wasn't where I wanted to spend my time yet. When I use paint now, it tends to be coloring in missing details Bandai didn't mold into plastic. This usually involves brush painting, but every so often I'll break the airbrush out and spend 30+ minutes masking the few pieces I'm trying to "correct".

@JigglySackles Oh nice. I kept seeing that in a couple stores near me for a bit, but I ended up buying the MG AGE-1 Normal instead. I don't have any HG AGE kits yet.For the AC6 kits, the only one I am cautious to recommend is the Nachtreiher/Steel Haze. The feet and ankles are quite brittle, although the result looks fantastic.

@JigglySackles I can highly recommend this one. I have also assembled the Liber Warrior (which is just the Liber Fighter with some extra armor) and can recommend that one as well. It seems the 30MF line in general is pretty comparable to high quality HG kits. The 30MM line has more ups and downs to it, although that's partially because it is a longer running line. The 30MM Armored Core VI kits specifically are probably between HG and RG in complexity.

I haven't yet, still pretty newbie to gunpla at the moment. I did a couple as a teen but didn't have great access to them and I'm kinda getting in to it again since my son has enjoyed putting them together. But I've been looking at models outside of gundam and wondering how they are to build. I really like the look of that one. That armor is awesome.

Same plates! I gave them a base coat of flat ivory, a dusting of a metallic nickel, matte clear, then some of a speckled/bumpy texture rattle can, with another light coat of the nickel, and finished with matte clear again. To keep setting the scene easier, after the first matte clear coat, I used a shot glass to make circles and masked the holes the stands would use.
