The truth is:

We need Greenland for national security, not for minerals ...

Where national security is stronger threats against Europe by the US.

There has never been a Chinese/Russian ship off the coast of Greenland without permission to deliver goods to North America. China and Russia do use ships in Russia's arctic waters, and there is some Chinese aided projects in developing Russia's north.

Everyone (including Canadians) who ever tells you Russia and China are coming to invade or take resources from Canada or Greenland is a warmongering liar US agent.

"Ending war" is being telegraphed as escalating war after mid terms, and magical surrender of Iran as outcome. Only reason to schedule anything after mid terms is that it would be unpopular to do it now, and expose the failure now. Not having war powers, or impeachment powers in congress is permission for Trump to destroy America/world in his dementiaed unchecked evil.

The Midterm Mandate: Can a Fractured Congress Curb the Imperial Presidency?

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As the November 3, 2026, midterm elections approach, the ongoing conflict with Iran has firmly established itself as the central pivot of American electoral politics. With the seven-month-old war driving severe domestic living costs to record thresholds, Democratic congressional candidates and anti-war strategists are framing the upcoming vote as an urgent, final structural firewall against unchecked executive military power.

The War Powers Gridlock and the Campaign for Constraint

According to platform statements from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), achieving a legislative majority is the only viable mechanism left to legally constrain the White House’s expansive war-making capabilities. This perspective has gained traction following a series of tight, party-line legislative battles. On September 24, 2026, Senate Republicans successfully blocked a bipartisan, House-passed War Powers Resolution by a narrow 49–50 vote, demonstrating the limits of the current congressional minority to force an operational withdrawal from the region.

Democratic challengers in competitive swing districts are aggressively arguing that a compliant Republican-led Congress has effectively abdicated its constitutional oversight. Critics from progressive foreign policy institutes assert that without a legislative majority capable of leveraging the power of the purse, the administration will continue to bypass statutory barriers by relying on broad Article II executive authorities. The focus of the opposition's argument is that electing a Congress independent of the executive branch is required to halt ongoing blockades and block a potential post-election escalation.

The Logic of Escalation vs. The Reality of Resistance

The upcoming vote comes amid warnings from international security analysts regarding the strategic assumptions guiding the administration's military campaign. Prominent anti-war commentators and progressive think tanks have sharply criticized the White House’s apparent conviction that systemic infrastructure degradation will force domestic capitulation. They argue that the presumption that striking electrical grids, transit nodes, and civilian infrastructure will compel the Iranian population and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to adopt a submissive posture toward Western influence represents a profound miscalculation.

Furthermore, political observers note that the White House has deliberately telegraphed an aggressive push to bring a definitive end to the conflict immediately following the midterms. Critics argue that this timeline is entirely artificial, designed to mask a massive post-election offensive that would be deeply unpopular with voters if launched before November. Because the current administration has demonstrated a categorical inability to engage in genuine diplomatic peace negotiations, its telegraphed "end to the war" is widely understood by defense analysts as a euphemism for unprecedented military escalation rather than a negotiated settlement.

The consequences of choosing this path of escalation over diplomacy carry profound risks for the global economy. Security strategists and Wall Street analysts warn that moving past the current blockade into direct, unchecked theater warfare will trigger immediate, massive spikes in energy prices. With international crude oil and distillate markets already highly sensitive to supply disruptions, such an escalation threatens to ignite a severe financial market collapse, wiping out trillions in global capital equity as the reality of a broader, uncontained conflict sets in.

Instead, regional experts point to indicators that military pressure is actively unifying local resistance. A recent report by The Wall Street Journal detailed extensive Iranian efforts to fortify sensitive infrastructure, with local authorities actively preparing the civilian population for long-duration conflict. Security strategists warn that continuing the strict naval blockade risks driving the adversary toward a corner where its only rational option is a full-scale, asymmetric retaliation designed to cripple global energy distribution corridors.

The Threat of Global Economic Realignment

The broader international risk of a continued conflict has become a key target for economic analysts evaluating the midterms. Mainstream financial monitors note that an escalation does not offer a path to clean victory; rather, it introduces a severe threat of global economic fragmentation. If prolonged hostilities disrupt primary maritime transit routes, the resulting spike in energy and logistics costs will inflict severe economic strain on key global consumer markets, while imposing heavy infrastructural repair costs on regional producers.

Foreign policy scholars warn that this dynamic could rapidly undermine the long-term structural foundations of the American economic model. Faced with a persistent, U.S.-enforced blockade that threatens domestic stability, historical global partners may face an unbearable economic tax. Analysts suggest this strain could accelerate a calculated withdrawal of international support for U.S. financial systems, pushing key economic blocks to fast-track independent, alternative trade and settlement structures to bypass the conflict zone entirely.

The Price of Unchecked Predictions: A Winter of Domestic Crisis

Ultimately, the upcoming election serves as a direct referendum on the catastrophic domestic consequences of an unchecked executive branch operating under the illusion of an imminent, "unconditional surrender" from its adversary. When a compliant Congress refuses to restrain a president who continuously promises that victory is just around the corner, the severe price of that miscalculation is passed straight to the American pocketbook.

Should the administration pursue its post-election escalation or persist with a blockade that provokes full asymmetric retaliation, the resulting shock will manifest at home as $9.00 per gallon diesel, gasoline, and home heating oil. For the millions of families across the Northeast facing an unpayable $3,600 winter heating bill, the theoretical predictions of Washington strategists will transform into a brutal humanitarian and economic crisis. A vote this November is the primary mechanism to reassert legislative oversight before these unchecked executive assumptions trigger a broader domestic collapse.

I previously interpreted the schizophrenic coin flip decision process between "crazy and rational" as an obvious ploy to come up with rational in the end, there is beyond crazy evil, in publicly siding with evil without justification beyond a mental coin flip result, there are may issues ranging from stupid to idiocy in revealing the thirst for evil.

  1. annihilation 6 weeks from now, telegraphs to Iran, justification to pre-emptively escalate and raise oil price to $150 or more, along with diesel/gasoline extra premium pricing. It means that a market manipulation negotiation process is to be even less trusted than they've been complaining was always a charade.

  2. There's an obvious disregard for improving US economy prior to midterms, if significant worsening is promised after midterm unless war powers restrictions or impeachment is invoked. If US had the capacity to prevent Iran retaliations, it would have done so already.

  3. An important aside, all wars never improve Americans lives, and divert deficits towards evil instead of help and prosperity, but this one is destroying entire global economy. Oil product prices, and national solvency crisis that threatens housing values is direct harm in additon to the invisible theft of paying for the harm.

  4. if post mid term bombing, means anihilation/hell, means multiple nuclear strikes on Iran, there is regional pollution, and international redlines broken. Trump has promised an end of the war after mid terms, but big expensive strikes with conventional weapons don't do it, and even multiple airburst nuclear strikes, don't prevent retaliations. China can't permit weakness/corruption charges against Xi for backing down against its "negotiation advice".

Actions to take:

  • Americans: vote for Dems. Impeachment or war powers constraints. Demand war powers constraints from you politiicians now. 25th amendment (incapacity) is a pure cabinet role, that can't happen with sycophants, but this is 25th amendment level crazy/unstable/dementiaed level arguments to constrain a narcissist from destroying America without basic military/economist advice.

  • Nato colonies: threaten to expel US from NATO. People protest their leaders to do so. Europe, after non-Chinese Asia faces the most economic damage from extreme oil/products scarcity. Cheering on Ukraine to make it worse is part of point 3 above.

  • UK, and any other air bases: revoke US military flight rights from UK itself and Diego Garcia.. Protest your rulers to do so.

Annihilation of Iran is an Israeli objective. It doesn't help any American, but it can help Israel target Turkey next. There is no path to not destroying significant global infrastructure, and shifting even loyal puppets away from US respect.

GCC and Iran are meeting in Oman to ratify the Oman-Iran agreement on SoH shipping permissions. US is not involved/invited.

I predict an end of the war will occur shortly after US midterm elections with US declaring victory but leaving peacefully. Support for this theory:

  • Amid total US bond market collapse this week, was an absurdly successful 30 year bond auction. Record low dealer take rate and extreme foreign purchases. I deduct that GCC members were the buyers to pay for Washington acquiescence to a peace resolution that doesn't involve them.

  • oil futures markets are generally predicting a drop in oil prices (resolution to conflict), of $4/month discounts in each month after Sept 20. But option markets are drastically different in their put to call volumes for Nov 20th (after election) vs Oct 20th. 3x higher put to call ratios for that Nov 20th settlement vs Oct 20th.

  • Trump has matter-of-factly said that war will end after mid terms.

  • It will not be televised (press conferences), and US media is being given marching orders to not platform demonic warmongers to be apoplectic over traitorous GCC members going behind US's back to make peace. This is acquiescence to ending the war, and related fatigue, as the best alternative for US.

  • KSA is not defending either itself or Yemen puppet from Ansar Allah (western label: Houthis), with huge damage this week, and no US raids/help in bombing huts. Unsustainable embarrassment requires desperate diplomacy.

To understand why surrendering after the mid terms is the best political play by Trump, did stump me for a while. Surrender/declaring victory and leaving anytime between today and the last 5 months, would reduce inflation from oil/refined products immediately. And any "DNC traitor" that would question the glorious victory, is just a forever war loser that wants to steal all your tax dollars. But if it were done before a GCC ratification of shipping rules, then China would sweep in to help with the exact same agreement that will be ratified.

China gaining influence in gulf states after the election is far better for GOP than it happening prior to election.

Monday's diplomatic meeting is designed to avoid headlines, but it is the recipe to end the war with the right timing.

With bond markets collapsing at 15 basis points per week, the only factor is whether the US can survive another 2 months of chaotic BS meant to distract from Iran war failure.

Without people like this there would literally be no journalism left.

Seven months after the so-called ceasefire, people in Gaza say the war has not ended. Bisan Owda reports from Gaza, where bombings continue, large parts of the territory remain inaccessible and families are still living in tents on top of the rubble of their homes.

“They say the war ended. But it didn’t.” With children walking to school under fire and people struggling to access water and basic needs, daily life is still shaped by uncertainty and loss. At the edge of it all, the sea remains one of the few places where people can gather to find a moment of calm.

“They cannot destroy the sea.”

US seemed to request ceasefire to give it a chance to surrender. Iran said no. But US should be allowed to know/negotiate $ amount requested.

To be consistent with 2-3 week "stone age" campaign, then retreat without peace, no ground troops can be used.

DNC, if it had any anti-war, Israel constraining of maximum evil, could portray some anti-cruelty arguments in the form of political points: massive daily operations budget, high wounded/casualties of US troops being sitting ducks in the region for threat of ground invasions, which DOD is lying about, damage to global oil/GCC product supplies both from Iran to the stone age, and Iran retaliations vs Zionazi axis, including slow to replace global ship inventory, and another 2-3 weeks of starvation of world supplies, or US gas/diesel prices if that is all that matters.

Straights of Hormuz are only closed as long as US remains in the area. World will easily come to agreement on opening SoH after the US leaves. World needs to make this point more forcefully.

In this episode of Photo Evidence, we break down that imagery to understand what was actually hit, and how effective these attacks really were.

From US air bases in Jordan and Saudi Arabia to radar sites in Qatar, naval headquarters in Bahrain, and a command post in Kuwait, the images reveal the scale and precision of Iran’s response.

By comparing before-and-after imagery, we assess what these strikes tell us about Iran’s strategy, and what they may reveal about the balance of power in the war so far.

LNG means higher natural gas prices for Americans as it is exported to other more profitable markets. Less wind means needing more fossil fuel powered electricity, also raising electricity and heating costs.
