There's an entire genre of mechs that are just humanoids, like the Phoenix Hawk got a lot of attention in the early books. I just don't care for them. The Summoner is at least a little weird with its asymmetrical arms, offset stump cockpit and missile launchers.

Fully agreed all around! For me, the aesthetics of the Atlas just don't convey badassery regardless of the reality.

I've always been partial to the Timber Wolf. Or any of them that aren't really humanoid. The Dire Wolf is cooler than the Atlas.

Regardless of capabilities, variant, or loadout, since I was a kid the Marauder was always (IMO) the coolest looking mech of them all.

Just started with Battletech after Mechwarrior was on sale on Steam and hooked me. I have a pile of other grey minis too…

Well then, good speed fighting the grey legion.

I have something like 120 unpainted CGL mechs 😬... so yeah I feel that pain. I went through about five months of no painting, now I'm back on a tear.

That's a very good reason to stay insides and paint some mechs. :D

Personally I have gotten super slow in regards with painting minis. I'm happy to finish one mech/day or weekend. finally have finished my 4th mech of the old Armored Combat (and starter box). Have the new one already sitting here waiting to be paitned too…

Well mine have not left the box. I really bought it to help out my ex boyfriend who needed the money. He runs the channel Battle Bond on YouTube. The people at Battle Tech pay him to promote the game. He is California right now for that reason. He the one who got me into the game, but have not gotten to play in a long time.
