So noticed a few hours ago the feeds had changed.

However, each instance seems to behave differently from one another. Would have posted on Github if I could reproduce the errors consistently.

Here on TBB, any feeds give an unsupported format error.

On Kbin.Earth, the feeds give a 403 error instead.

On GehirnEimer, which I don't have an account on but can be browsed without an account, feeds work fine.

Been noticing these posts aren't federating to Lemmy unless I search for their links with an alt on each instance I want the post to appear on.

Neither selecting the community in the magazine field or tagging it as an user at the end of the text seem to work, only logged in searches.

Also haven't tested the issue on Kbin.Earth, only here at TBB.

It might be an issue with Lemmy though, as I tried to reply with my Mastodon.Social alt to another post and it wouldn't appear on SLRPNK, the target community's home instance. Still, asking here since I won't be able to test in other instances at least for a little while.

Examples of posts facing these issues:

Mbin displays dates in a non-monotonic order (US-American, I think): MM/DD/YY.

How can I set this to monotonic order: DD/MM/YY?

When creating a new Mbin thread, there is a field called Tags.

What is it for?

On Stack Exchange sites (a proprietary platform that I no longer use), typing a few characters into the tags field uses string or stem matching to guess which tag you might be typing, and shows how many times that tag has already been used on the site. This is good UI/UX, letting users pick the same tags as each other for the same topics.

But Mbin's Tags field doesn't do that.

Is it for hashtags?

I use Mbin because it seems to be the only software that provides subscriptions to Fediverse microblogs (e.g. from Mastodon) as well as subscription to Fediverse forums/communities/magazines (e.g. from Lemmy).

Unfortunately, when viewed from Mbin, Mastodon profiles often have the warning, This profile is from a federated server and may be incomplete. View on remote instance

Example: https://thebrainbin.org/u/@transitous@en.osm.town

What's the source of this issue? E.g. is it:

  • Due to a choice by the admin of the Mbin server hosting my account?
  • Due to a bug in Mbin?
  • Something else?

In Mbin, how do I view a feed/page consisting solely of posts from users I follow?

Things I've tried that didn't achieve this:

  • Reading the User guide
  • Reading the FAQ
  • Clicking on People in the top bar
  • Clicking on Threads in the top bar
  • Clicking on Microblog in the top bar
  • Clicking on Magazines in the top bar
  • Clicking on Subscribed Magazines in the side bar
  • Clicking on my username in the side bar, then clicking on Following (shows a list of who I'm following, but not their posts).

I'm using mbin bc it let's me mainly do threads but also have microblog on the same account for people/organizations that use it. in the combined feed on Interstellar I pretty much never see microblog, which I think is because ive followed some communities and people but not any hashtags like you do on mblog-only platforms. how do I do that?

What i mean is, that when i post a link, others are saying that all they see is a picture. it displays as a link to me, but others are saying that it's just a link to a picture. Anyone else?
