Can YOU personally, afford to take time off, and potentially lose your job, to protest? In Ontario I get three 'job protected' days off in the year, if I get arrested and miss my Friday-Sunday shift I am fucked. No one is going to risk their home and job to yell, ineffectually, at a bunch of millionaires and politicians.

    Wrong.

While you’re correct, that much heat emitted in a local area prone to yearly fire seasons seems to be unwise.

The "23 atomic bomb" facility is ~20MW, equivalent to an extra 40,000m^2 (that's a 200m square) of sunlight falling on that area. Insignificant.

. If sparks from trains travelling around curves can start fires (Lytton seemingly every year), multiple nukes’ worth of heat daily might be worse.

Sparks from a train are pinpoints of incandescently hot metal, more than 500c, falling into dry grass. 20MW industrial building rejects its heat as air or steam in the 50-100c range.

Also, it’s still an increase of emissions, more is always worse than neutral in this scenario. Yes, there are more polluting things to worry about, but we need to be reducing emissions, not increasing them.

At least you got one right.

On the order of 20MW continuous draw, saved you the math.

That's pretty small for an industrial load and some hyperscale data-centers are in the 500MW scale.

And Anthropic posted an $80B in the first half of 2026, keep that in mind when you decide whether you want to spend your money on AI subscriptions or your country.

    • 1/3 Whole wheat flour
    • 2/3 White bread flour (all purpose works as well)
    • 70% Mill Street Organic Lager (any light lager works)
    • 2% Salt
    • 1.5% Yeast

Bulk ferment for 2 hrs with one or two folds at 20min and 40min. Proof for 2 hrs then bake in an oven that was preheated with a cookie sheet full of water (careful of the scalding steam when you open the door). As soon as the bread is in the oven spray it down with way too much water (careful of your oven window) then close the door to trap all the steam. You should get some good spring and that nice crunchy/speckled crust.

Protip: 500g of flour is the perfect amount for a 355ml can of beer.
