@ValueSubtracted I hate listening to single songs — I like to hear what an artist had to say as a whole.
@Malgas @startrek And didn’t have the Federation’s squeamishness about AI and transhumanism.
@ValueSubtracted @startrek The Orville combines them really well, and often what is first played for comedy ends up in deep moral quandaries.
@JohnnyEnzyme @startrek Such a great series.
@MimicJar @startrek YES! The first season is pretty comic, but astoundingly many of those comic situations get very serious in later seasons. The show is in many ways more honest than Trek in looking at moral implications and realpolitik concerns. It’s very surprisingly deep. It really is an outstanding show, and I was really shocked to have that opinion.
@darklamer @startrek And similarly Sangre de Toro in Spain. Although blood sausage is actually made with blood.
@observantTrapezium @ValueSubtracted I'm really annoyed that we don't seem to have any sort of military discipline, such that Uhura can lie to her captain without any repercussions. (We see similar looseness towards the notion of deference to rank in other episodes of the show.)
@Stormygeddon @startrek Ha!
@ValueSubtracted Thanks for clarifying that. It’s odd to me that SNW decided to go back to the earlier figure.
@USSBurritoTruck Huh. I have always heard the crew compliment as 430, even when TOS was the only Trek. It appeared on Star Trek.com, but there’s no actual reference there:web.archive.org/web/2020042610
@USSBurritoTruck @startrek The crew size of TOS Enterprise was 430. I’m not sure why they’ve halved that in SNW.
@stargazingpenguin @startrek I really think Trek works best on TV.
