What a pointlessly nasty thing to say. I wonder how a person gets like this?
Most people don't know how to self-host. Most people don't know what self-hosting is. Most people don't know what hosting is.
This post is a prime example of a weird logical fallacy that seems to permeate the tech world in particular, and which goes something like this:
- For me, this task is trivial.
- That is because I have spent a lifetime developing the knowledge, skills and experience to make that task trivial.
- I lack the self-awareness and intellectual honesty to understand that.
- Therefore, I assume that anyone for whom this task is not trivial is simply lazy, and has only themselves to blame for their failure to perform this task.
- Therefore, I am very superior and very smart.
It's like the Upper Class Twit Of The Year Show, but with pleadings.
This is just weird. Like, he could obviously afford the train fares, and in any event employers like HSBC usually subsidise or at least provide interest-free loans to cover the (admittedly exorbitant) costs of season tickets. Why do this? A cheap thrill?
She's right, of course. Although those losers hanging around ports in balaclavas aren't so much intimidating as just sad. Like, you just know that every one of those guys has lost access to their kids and lives on their own in a shitty little flat above a shop with only Stella and a stupidly oversized telly for company.
Yeah, that was a "finger through the toilet paper" moment. A return to the Troubles is the last damned thing we need right now.
"Declines to rule out" means the journalist asked "Mr Burnham, can you absolutely rule out rejoining the EU" and he didn't say "yes". It is, indeed, a nothingburger.
I think that's kind of my point - to us Europeans, those accents sound the same.
Only heard about this anecdotally, but it's plausible that it would work. People who aren't from North America often have trouble distinguishing at least some American accents (generally the more northern ones) from Canadian accents. Like, you won't get away with it if you're from Texas or Louisiana or some such, but if you talk like Dan Rather or David Sedaris you can pass for Canadian in most places that aren't Canada.
Classy as ever, America.
"The Jewish Question". Ew. Ew ew ew. What a vile little man.
Why is it that the loudest proponents of the supposed "superiority" of the white race are invariably the most pathetic specimens of it?
(I know that's not the point, but it does seem to be a thing. The weaker the chin, the more virulent the racism.)
