I certainly didn't hear about it before that study was released. We only worried about jabbing each other with graphite pencils 'cause "you'll get lead poisoning!"
Another for reggaeton. It drives me out of stores.
I don’t know. Ask the account executives who dreamed up the slogan in 1974.
This is unlocking some long-repressed memories (none bad!) of having heard her stuff or owned one of the reissues briefly. The name is hard to forget.
I must admit that I had a gurgly-sounding cassette of this LP, never vinyl. With the word PROMO in Sharpie on the cover. Shame.
Probably my favorite thing by them after their debut LP. Heresy, I know.
I’m a pretty active poster & reader over on Mastodon and think the Fediverse is neat. That said, people who share my interests (vintage signage, 1970s punk rock / new wave, old monster movies, etc.) pretty much only hang out on Instagram, and do all their image sharing and commenting over there. The more general “this is my lifestyle” people head where the action is, and it ain’t here.
Oh, they were opening for (the incredible) Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds, who I love but are also a known quantity. These folks were unexpected and had all the greater impact for it.
I really, really wanted one of these. But it wasn't to be.
Five or six paperbacks of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? I’d pick up copies of the old Ballantine edition with the Blade Runner cover art by Drew Struzan (when you could still find them lying around for $2 or $3).
That guy was pretty good in GREEN ROOM (the only thing I've seen him in). I guess an insistent EXXXTREME techno soundtrack is supposed to inspire some kind of excitement in people.
Could be wonderful - guess I'll never know.
