"Public sentiment" exacerbates many of the problems associated with cars.
Yes! back when i used to drive i loved those "average speed limit" sections on motorways. It almost made driving a tolerable experience.
"Rankin County Election Commissioners will return to their day jobs on Monday, and come back at around 5 p.m. each weekday that counting continues. "
It should be a state holiday or something for these people. I get that having volunteers is best for this, but make it easy for them.
Same goes for voting too. Should have a special public holiday - or use an existing one to make it easier for as many as possible.
Fixed charges may sometimes cover stuff like cleanup , decommissioning and waste management for nukes - if anyone actually cares about such things. Dunno if that's the case in Georgia though. Nukes are complex long term things and they and their legacy often outlast the builder and operator companies - so they often will be , de-facto, "socialised" , one way or another.
All the rich have to do avoid death , in this scenario, is share their stuff around a bit more. Doesn't sound that hard to me. Biggest problem with death penalty, in my opinion, is the fallibility and corruptability of the justice system.
Its not that hard to see when people have accumulated excess wealth - at least in terms of physical stuff like land. I'd love to guillotine away all excess concentrations of power, but that's not as easy to observe, so start with land, and see if they get the message.
So long as you've paid them enough to make you "well adjusted" ( to an inhumane society) . . . then good for you. Don't blame you.
But, I don't like that these headshrinkers that never seem diagnose society as being any part of people's problems, even though it is clearly very different from the one that generations of evolution came up through, and has far less place for (and tolerance of) our natural diversity as a species. Not to mention their brethren who pro-actively support the destruction of civil society, seek to empower the ruling classes and basically invented advertising and mass manipulation. I'd find it very hard to put any trust in those fuckers, i'd much rather talk to a homeless person about our problems and give them a tenner for booze.
Whyoming? South Dacarta?
Sorry, i know nothing about USA, don't mean to be excessively offensive but damn, is it really only bison or mooses that live in those places.
Banks/investors see bubble and aren't adequately regulated.
Cool. Congestion pricing also benefits car drivers by reducing their own externalities against each other.
Its less fair on poor vs rich divers, but overall it benefits all of them.
Free the bus! (and reduce the fare).
90 dollars, Fuck me! glad i don't do that anymore.
I am thinking about giving this one a try though.
Yep, and most "security vulnerabilities" are just humans, especially the ones who are not motivated (compensated) enough to give a fuck.
