What are gas station pills? Is this some weirdly branded viagra? I've never seen this before...
God, this comic fits sooo often. It's sad.
What do you mean by "crazy values"? Like measurement drift? Couldn't that not also be reset periodically locally? Like, without a fixed isolated monitoring system but someone with a calibrated thermometer who checks the units and recalibrates them.
... Now that I'm thinking about it, don't you need that anyway? If I'm "Mr. Fridge" sitting remote at Fridge-HQ I need an independent reading anyway so I can know whether that sensor just drifted or whether something is truely off.
Also, I fully agree with your last sentence. It's always security vs. convenience. Looks like they chose poorly.
They could still broadcast their temperature (securely, hopefully), without allowing any incomming commands.
Imagine someone sends you an invite to a meeting a couple of weeks or months out. You accept. The next day you need to check something that was in that meeting invite. Fuck, was that meeting set in march or april? And what was it called? There are like three plausible names for it... Woldn't it be nice to just scroll down to yesterdays emails and have it there?
Either treat invites as a message, or do some completely separate calendar-notification system. But the inbetween is kinda the worst of both worlds.
Welp, it's coming whether you're ready or not...
And I won't tell you which one I mean.
I read that in Cane from the Amazing Digital Circus' voice... Helllllo America!
Hey, battery technician here. You see, what happened here is that the hungry little caterpillar has entered the digital age and I don't know what the hell is going on here.
Oooh so THAT's where all the water went.
Not that shit like this was predicted since forever.
If you still vote conservative, wherever you may live, fuck you.
I like that account name. It's not "nature friends" or "interesting nature facts" it tells you to please "GIVE A SHIT about Nature" or fuck off.
