Oklahoma City Thunder starters Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace will both miss extended periods after undergoing surgery to repair injuries suffered during Sunday's win over the LA Clippers.

Forward Jalen Williams suffered a fractured fibula and dislocated left ankle, Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti announced on Monday. Cason Wallace suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder, according to Presti.

I think the lottery rules, as imperfect as they are, will massively reduce tanking and I’m excited to see more teams actually trying to win games down the stretch.

Having “relegation” battles at the end of the year to not be bottom 3 should be interesting stakes.

A big side effect though is draft pics values just got flattened. Before you’d rather have 1 pick from a really bad team, now you just want a volume of picks. Really changes the landscape for trades.

Not really a hot take but I think Wemby wins MVP.

Jokic will have the stats but don’t think Nuggets are getting a top 3 seed unless they have much better injury luck than the last couple of years.

Same with Luka, he’ll have stats who would have the benefit of LA market pushing his case and he doesn’t have the voter fatigue Jokic/Shai do but Lakers won’t be at the top of the west.

Shai as mentioned will have the voter fatigue hit hard since the voters really don’t want to give 3 in a row especially to someone coming off a short playoff run (see Jokic and Giannis). OKC likely has the team record and he’ll put up similar stats but Wemby takes it.

Giannis is an outside shot but I don’t think Heat have the record either.

    Top 5 is something like

    1. Wemby
    2. Jokic/Shai
    3. Jokic/Shai
    4. Luka
    5. Giannis

New York Knicks assistant coaches did not receive their championship rings during Tuesday's title ceremony ahead of the season opener, while a number of team employees instead were targeted by a Madison Square Garden phishing scam and will not receive rings at all, according to a report.

The Athletic reported Thursday that the assistant coaches were handed empty boxes during Tuesday's ceremony, in part because they had not yet been fitted for the rings.

The coaches' reaction to the delayed rings ranged from annoyance to anger, according to The Athletic.

But for some team employees in Knicks' business operations and at Madison Square Garden, no rings are coming. Instead, they reportedly received an email last month saying "your Employee Championship Ring is here" that claimed that they could choose from a pair of options at "no cost to you."

When the employees clicked on a link in the email, The Athletic reported, they were informed that they had failed a phishing test and would have to attend a mandatory cybersecurity class.

Definitely, I loved the Pacers run to the finals and losing Tyrese to an Achilles in game 7 was brutal.

Feel like even with some front runners for the chip there’s a lot of teams that have a good shot this year.

From my understanding the CBA doesn’t give silver the power to suspend players for this so the contract voiding is really the only thing he could’ve done and I think they went a little light on Kawhi so he doesn’t appeal which leaves Ballmer little options to fight this.

It was light enough that Kawhi even admitted people around him (I.e. his uncle) did this which really seals the clippers fate here.

Wow really glad they threw the book at Ballmer and the Clippers.

Would have really lost my interest in the league if they had let this slide since it just makes the richest teams have a massive advantage. Really glad they did this.

Only thing for Denver would be if they can package these with Zeke to get a solid player.

I hope that’s a this offseason move cause they need depth and you want time to build chemistry but I’m guessing its going to be a trade deadline move.

Saw somewhere else bring up that ballmer was already fined for something like this was Deandre Jordan. Really don’t see how you can just give him another slap on the wrist.

Way too many instances of Kawhi getting paid to do nothing for them to not take picks at least, really may need to suspend Kawhi for a year too at this point.
