You are not in the wrong! Only you can have the introspection to discover your own identity. Neither your mum nor Jane can influence what you are. For what it's worth, I think you acted appropriately, and the fact that your mum couldn't even apologise for her outburst is telling.

On a practical level, it may be worth considering what exit plans you have in case you can't stay with your mum any longer. This may be accelerating plans to move in with Jane, or elsewhere separately, but you ought to have an idea as to what you can do if worst comes to worst.

Hey Lily, you are not alone in this. It is unfortunately very common to suffer from poor mental health even after transitioning as it isn't a magic switch that makes everything better (although it does help a lot). Sometimes you need to set aside some time to do something you enjoy and try to forget the problems you face for a bit. It can help your body kind of reset and reenergise you.

6500 years is comparable to the time scales of planetary nebulae, so it may not even exist anymore. I seem to recall reading that there was a supernova near the pillars, which may have destroyed them. If this hypothesis is true, we should expect to see the destruction in about 1000 years.

Note that these simple calculations work because it is so close to us. As you get to distances comparable to the size of the observable universe, you have to start respecting GR to get the right answers.
