Snaps a picture of their daughter, what's it supposed do without input at that point? Just start making up critiques? "Well she doesn't have a flat tire but her hair cut is terrible, her features don't match societies preferences so she could use a nose job, the fact that she's not smiling tells me she could use a doctor's visit to diagnose depression medications"

"On second thought there aren't 3 good things about your daughter"

See! That's what I've been trying to tell her!!!

Supposed to be in at work at 8, brain starts pacing in worry at around 11pm the night before. "If I don't fall asleep I won't wake up on time". 3:00, "ugh I don't have enough hours to sleep well but if I don't fall asleep now I'll never get up!". 5:00 "shit it might be better I just start up!). 6:30, "God I'm exhausted let me close my eyes for 30 minutes..."

I for some reason did this in my late teens, was fine from about 22-33 and now suddenly in my mid to late 30s (37) its back and feel stressed as ever about it

  • 24% of Israel's imports come from China, twice that of the U.S. China could simply say we will stop selling you products if you don't do ___ and Israel would be hard pressed not to do what they said immediately. Yet nothing but words have come, meaning they haven't much interest in what happens there so long as Israel keeps buying their products.

Is my math wrong or is that not less than 3% of it? Which according to the article from 1998 to now they haid raised their gold 5 fold meaning comparing today to 1998 when they have 485% of the gold they had in 1998.

The U.S. in that time has never seemed to try to raise or lower their gold reserve so one could say they have ~100% of what they had in 1998.

I'm not so sure gold in this context shows enough overall to compare such numbers

  • I most definitely believe that people were. It may not have been everywhere and it wasnt always needed. For example the indigenous people in North America could outsmart the Buffalo, heard them via scaring them with wolf like pelts/noises and direct them towards cliffs to fall. The buffalo in back don't see the cliff, and essentially push the one or two up front off

But where there wasn't Buffalo you see tribes who hunted deer, deer won't run in herds and be forced off cliffs so easily. A human can't outrun a deer in short distances, but we can cool ourselves and regulate our temperature better than deer can, so while working in a team will obviously make it quicker, a healthy human can run down a deer and make it quit out of exhaustion.

Mostly the title describes it. I'm curious after seeing a pokemon Minecraft server in a passover YouTube video my spouse was going between. Basically I am wondering if I can create a host on Mint somehow to host with the mods, put a split console join, and then allow us to join from Xbox or such hosted off our server.

So I'm watching a movie, im 37 in September ( BS 2013, Still feel meh), but damn it seems like every movie is teens or "other genre" like horror (still focused around young audience or w.e So I want to ask, if you could play one moment , one spaghetti of your life over, what's that fuck up.... Or leave it in _____ and tell us what you wish you did instead

Commercials for bear, sherman williams, etc show up around and everyone sees them eventually. Has anyone actually found a cheap paint that covers well and looks nice (water based for indoor) that is cheap and worth the idea of experimenting or doing a room that you know you will have to repaint white later before you move out. Been here 4 years, no real plans of leaving, fuck I put a chicken coop out back a near 2 years ago.. but I know a day will come when they say "hey your rent is going up drastically or you can't have pets or something"

Sadly they switched from year leases to month to month 3 years ago (after the first year) but I figure at some point maybe it is worth just painting something to make it more homeish than damnit I'm still here

What are your favorite type of lentils, what do you use them in, why are they preferred for that dish than others?

I recently realized I have only had maybe 1 or two types, and upon searching them found they all supposedly taste different and have different textures.

Wherher it is for cheap decent soup or an old family recipe; slap me with some information

So I have a yellow bellied slider. He became my mate when his brothers/sisters kept getting run over at a workplace, I would throw. 2-3 back on the lake every day but many were run over by Golf carts and stepped on. So about 7 years later, I have one I brought home and had been in a tank swimming his whole life. As in full water, float on logs when tired. He has never complained more than when I leave him on the floor to exist. He loves the water, and for the longest time liked being fed by us... So I assumed that meant he isn't scared of us. I am curious if I moved to a half water, half plant situation if it would be to drastic for him? I don't want to hurt him, he's obviously family to me at this point. I keep draining his tank to make sure it is clean enough, but I was drawn to thinking, what if. Because he got along with 2 fish he knew as he was young for years. He would kill everything else. Everything. Fish, shrimp, crawfish anything. It his 2 friends, he kept no matter what. 1 died 2 year ago due to a water clean transfer I guess ( or at least I call it my fault). The second died of age or loneliness. Turtileman no longer has friends and I don't know how to broch new friends without him just eating them... Any advice?

I'm thinking maybe plants, cleaning fish and self sufficient, but a turtle says no lol

    Hot Water Shutoff (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

So this place was made into a duplex and they forced a hot water heater into a small closet. Maybe I'm not understanding properly but why is there not a hot water Shutoff valve there? The hot water wasn't shutting fully off on the tub, so the valve stem likely just needs to be replaced, not hard.. quick cheap replacement usually... But when I went to shut off the hot water I found this.

Side note, I also found their was no exhaust vent for the dryer a couple years ago, we had to have someone cut a whole where the exhaust was ran, but just sat up against the exterior wall with no outlet. (Obviously a fire hazard). Shit happens, but am I wrong that a shut off valve should be there?
