I hear you, and I agree with the sentiment.

Checkout their GitHub, they are completing pull requests from many people (no doubt using their own AI) that incrementally add features and fix bugs. They maintain architecture plan and docs so it's maintainable, with future phases planned out. It's not purely "make Photoshop" slop, there's a bit of planning.

I don't know if they're competent engineers who review the plans and docs for potential issues or hallucinations, I haven't investigated it deeply, but it's not lowest hanging fruit slop.

I have creative cloud that work pays for. It's awful, I hate it, I hate the launcher, I hate having to kick off my laptop so I can work on my desktop, I hate the whole sign in experience, and I hate how slow everything is. Most of all, I hate that I have to use windows for it.

Calling artcraft slop that doesn't work is just coping with refusing to accept that AI could be used to make something good. I don't open Photoshop anymore, photocraft launches in 1 second, I don't have to boot windows for it, it opens all my PSDs, and while I'm not the most advanced Photoshop user, it works well for everything I've tried.

Film craft works well too, I had missed results with ultra key and it's missing features, but it mostly works.

Pdfcraft replaced Acrobat, it can sign, it can stamp, it can do pretty much everything most people need already.

They're communicating that they've been desensitized to a high degree because of the brutality of the genocide, that this feels pale in comparison.

I agree. I heard the audio on the news site, it had a warning which is fine, but wasn't that bad. An adult knew she's going to die and communicated it in a rather calm manner, it was quick, you didn't hear anything but her voice, and wouldn't know what happened or when relative to what she said.

I googled Learjet just to get more details on the plane, and the first thing I hit was a reddit post which had a supposed pilot explaining their experience, but the mod was in there banning people for posting the audio, with a pinned comment explaining that, and describing it as extreme gore and nsfl. It's not that bad.

Did the video of the plane crashing horrify you?

A few years ago, it would have been horrifying. After watching children's brains spilling out of their heads for over a year, it's just an accident like any other, it triggers nothing emotionally.

Are you unable to critically think for yourself? Is this your defense mechanism?

Democrats are fascist, they demonized students for protesting genocide, they had reporters dragged out of the press room in hand cuffs for asking questions, they proudly state "we are capitalists" and the social hierarchy that comes with that, they've openly reversed course on several issues in the past couple years and that only serves to drag their supporters right, the only thing they're missing is a Trump figure.

If you believe the capitalist assertion that stock always go up, sure. If you're not close to retirement and aren't counting on those funds anytime soon, sure.

I believe the AI circular financing bubble isn't meaningfully going to turn a corner and become profitable enough to pay the debts already accumulated, and once it truly pops that money will never come back to the average investor trusting the financial bros to put all their eggs into that overinflated basket.

The point you're missing is that the loss is real for the investors holding those assets.

If you bought ten cards for $5 each, you invested $50. When their market value rises to $80, you have an investment worth $80. If that value subsequently falls to $10, you've lost $70 in investment value. You can no longer sell those cards for what you could have sold them for yesterday.

And if you were someone who bought those ten cards at $8 each, you've now lost $70 of your original $80 investment. That isn't hypothetical money. That's money you actually spent and can no longer recover by selling your cards.

The money is not "still there", the money transferred hands and you (or your retirement account) are holding the empty bag.

Google it? It's here. It's you.

I'm not a reporter or a news media outlet, that was your repeated claim that I refuted.

Yes, exactly. I wish you could hear yourself.

Have you lost track of the discussion already?

This is the first time you're bringing any of this up here in this thread with me. "The meat of the argument?" You have got to be joking.

Not my argument, the article's. That you dismissed as sexist because of one word you didn't like.

I've already got enough homework to keep me busy thanks

    Stay in school!

And neither should the tech / biz media, or the chattering commentariat.

Something you keep insisting is true, and despite responding with long comments, you don't have the time to Google any evidence of.

When was the last time you got so worked up about Altman's work-life balance? About Zuckerberg's parenting choices? Is anyone terribly worried that Sundar Pichai isn't feminist enough?

I have yet to run into someone defending them as a good parents with that lack of balance as evidence... When you make that comment I'll make the same argument again.
