Reddit Permabanned me for non-specific Anti-ICE/Nazi/Fascist comments (lemmy.world)

I had two Reddit accounts for 10+ years, never received a ban on either account, even a temp ban. One was only for NSFW, weed and music discussion, the other was used much more broadly.

In the last few months I got banned on my primary account 3 times, twice for 3 days and once for 7 days.

All of the comments I was banned for were 100% factual, not specifically directed at any user, short and to the point but anti-Nazi/ICE/Fascism/Trump/Pedo in their content.

Reddit claimed I incited violence and harassed individuals, ultimately claimed because I had two accounts I was participating in ban evasion.

After this happened I created another account using a different internet connection, device, email, browser type, and VPN, it was banned in <5 hours for… ban evasion!

So fuck Reddit, they are complicit in all the nonsense going on and banning people for commenting about it.

    Thanks. I actually made this account here on Lemmy after Reddit shut down and third-party apps a year and a half ago or whenever that was. I should have never gone back.

    Just really haven’t used this very much.

    Now I’m just reading that the NSFW part of this is likely done because the instance is crashing and the admin hasn’t been heard from since last October so that sucks…

    Ha I left after a temp ban that was just as poor. So I created this account, then once they permanently banned me (for agreeing with a Muslim person about a peaceful action from a Muslim) I didn’t bother trying to create another one, that was enough for me.

    I’m glad they did to be honest, we can see from the outside now what’s going on and I’d probably still be there if they didn’t; the content on many topics is quite broad.They’re owned and controlled and I suspect a bit of scraping so to speak is going on, not just from AI either.

    Now we help build this.

    Had the same experience. Worst part is that the extra accounts I had, hadden't been accessed in years.

    I get banned twice a month. Reddit and here. Reddit is just supporting Nazis so numbers go up, and this place is an absurd echo chamber. Welcome to internet forums.

    If you really care create an account ahead of time and keep it off the same IP and make sure to clear cookies/sessions as they'll cross track. It's easy to evade the bans but your missing something is trying the accounts together.

    They correlate your subscriptions and activity now. Unless you plan on going full deep cover with it, the subreddits you join or interact with end up forming a reliable fingerprint. Maybe some stylometry involved at some point, or looking at when you're active, latency analysis, idk

    When did this happen?

    I’ve participated loudly in Reddit subs focused on antifascism, anti-ICE, left activism, and recently anti-Iran-bombing discussion. I just got permabanned about a week ago with a very weird nonsensical justification, “rule violations by your other account(s)”. I have no other accounts, I’ve only ever had one Reddit account for the last 8 years. I had 660K karma at the time of the ban and about 70 followers. I earned the karma the hard way, it was comment karma over many thousands of comments. Not a karma farmer.

    Is there something going on? Is Spez under orders to get rid of antifascist voices? Or am I reading too much paranoia into what might just be really sloppy automod software with no human oversight to rectify errors?
