Bought some cucumber syrup. It's full of artificial coloring and tartrazine and crap, and it tastes better and more crisp than homemade stuff ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Eleven bucks a bottle if you know where to get it. Cocktail is a typical sour, 1 part lemon, 1 part cuke/St G, 2 parts gin (reserve your judgement, it's the only gin I had laying around)

3/5 pleasant, but too sweet. I ought to add more gin and a splash of soda water, but I will not.

Had me sold at gin & St. Germaine. Plus cucumber syrup? Sign me right up!

Only thing I'd change is look for a less piney gin (Boodles is awesome though!). I love that today we can get a whole variety of gins with vastly different flavor profiles.

Leopold Brothers has one that's citrusy, may work well here.

Now I'm off to find that cucumber syrup, what a summery drink that must be!

Hendricks has cucumber as one of its botanicals, and if you use 1/2 oz lime and simple syrup, a muddled cucumber and the stG with a dirty pour, you've got yourself a nice refresher... can even top with club soda or prosecco

    That sounds great! Will try.

Tangentially related: my local grocery story was selling half-fifths? Tenths? 375ml bottles of Hendricks for $9 and a quarter before tax. I bought six but I should have bought more. Hendricks is a fine gin and it goes well with pretty much everything.
