Since 1997, the San Francisco Transgender Film Festival has presented works by trans and gender nonconforming filmmakers. They have at times shown films that would go unseen were it not for this festival. Founded by Christopher Lee and Alex Austin, the festival has grown considerably over the years.

Now run by Artistic Director Shawna Virago, the festival has found a welcoming home at the Roxie Theater, where it will run from November 12-14. After the Roxie run, the festival will be available free online from November 16-22. All films will be close-captioned for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.

There will be six programs of short films, with program six being deemed for adults 18+ and which can be seen in person at the Roxie only.
