The Federal Trade Commission told a data company it could no longer sell data it collected from hundreds of millions of Americans’ mobile devices when people visited hospitals, dialysis clinics, or abortion clinics. But little is stopping other companies from doing so. In the absence of federal protections, some states are passing their own rules.

If you're storing appointments on your electronic calendar like Google's, they know too. Calendars are a wealth of private information: when is your home empty, what kind of vacations do you take, what conditions are you being treated for, etc.

All these billionaires really missing out on the chance to be an actual Santa Clause.

They have practically endless 'money', and they already see you when you're sleeping, and know when you're awake.

I would be delighted to profit from it. But somehow I don't think that's what is being offered.

Ever consider turning off location services?

    Here is a fun read:

    https://blog.apnic.net/2018/05/24/securing-internet-geolocation-client-presence-verification/

    https://arxiv.org/abs/1802.05169

tldr: only way to not be located is to leave all smart devices at home (and hope nobody with smart glasses will cross your path, but this part is not in the links)

Make sure to refuse when the Dr asks you if it's ok for them to use AI to record the conversation. I told my doctor last week and she got work by hand on the keyboard.
