At the weekend, I decided to make some cocktails (this one, in case anyone is curious).

I don't make cocktails very often, so I don't have very expensive gear. I've been using a protein shaker. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done.

So it was around 1am on Saturday night when I decided it would be a great idea. I got everything ready and started shaking. A few seconds later, the bottom of the shaker breaks and I splash sticky passion fruit all over my kitchen. We're talking walls, windows, fridge, chairs...

It was during that fun clean up that I decided it was probably time I invested in a decent shaker!

Can anyone in Europe recommend a decent Boston shaker? It seems all the recommendations online are for American brands that don't sell on this side of the pond.

Can't recommend a specific brand, but I got my shaker from a restaurant supply store. It really shouldn't need to cost much to work well.

I'd recommend cocktail kingdom, either their Leopold or Koriko shakers.

I think theyre an American company, but they do ship to Europe.

    I'm using this one: https://vacuvin.com/products/cocktail-shaker-tin-on-tin-boston-stainless-steel

I'm happy with it, but I haven't tried any other one so it's hard to compare! I had it for 2 years, and it still seals well at least.

I'd look on eBay or some other such used stuff site and pick up something old and retro.

I have been very happy with my "A Bar Above" Boston shaker set. Solid tool, very well constructed.
