Donald Trump’s new White House Chief of Staff, Stephen Miller, said the Republican Party is “more popular than ever,” just days after voters handed Democrats control of the House and Senate the midterm elections.

Miller said in his speech that it was “the privilege of a lifetime to join President Trump,” before adding: “If it wasn’t for President Trump, the United States of America would not exist right now.”

“This man saved America,” Miller said. “He saved our military from collapse, he saved our economy from destruction, he saved our border from annihilation and he saved our country from threats at home and abroad which would have been the end of the American dream forever.”

Since when does the WH Chief of Staff give speeches? I wonder who is really calling the shots here? Maybe the President's brain is pudding after all.

Maybe we should all start calling him "President Miller". That might overload Trump's fragile ego, though.

That was the nice thing about Susie; you maybe saw her sitting in a corner during a briefing or something, but otherwise she was not heard.

Eh, I don’t know if that was a nice thing about her. I prefer my fascists out and proud. Posting online about how they're planning on breaking the law or giving speeches where they say their exact plans. Makes it easier to prosecute them when the time comes. Not that she doesn't also deserve it, but it's not quite the same if she's not publicly lying about being a lawyer or openly admitting to war crimes and the like. We must shine a light on evil and it really helps when they are the ones stepping into the spotlight.

Actually a really good book about the people who have had the job of Chief Of Staff for the different Presidents.

One thing the book explains is that each Chief has had a slightly different role, because each President was his own man.

So, if Donnie says his Cheif gives speeches, it's his choice.

My point, though, is that this job works best if it is done under the radar. A Chief of Staff has no authority at all unless the President gives it to them to make decisions on his behalf. So the job needs to be out of public view, otherwise people will question who is actually making the decisions.

I mean, no one is going to point to Donnie as an example of great leadership.

I just thought that the political geeks here [like myself] might enjoy knowing about a good book.
