Oh man, you think that's bad, RED is the massively simplified and cut-down version lmao

I'm semi convinced R. Talsorian hired an editor, and they just had a mental breakdown halfway through.

You're looking for details on your gun and can't find them? You're probably looking at the wrong chapter about guns, see one of them has all the descriptions and stats AND individual details, the other only has descriptions and stats.

But yeah, it's still better than 2020

The app is a work of art, though. Makes RED one of the best experiences in gaming imo.

Huh I didn't know that existed, neat! I still have a lot of problems with the underlying design philosophy of RED so I can't say I'd rate it nearly that high. I'd say RED is by far the most playable crunchy trad rpg, but IMO it achieves that playability mostly just by making every mechanic kinda shallow, and in doing so loses some of the fun of playing that kind of game. It also doesn't really fix what i'd call the core problem of most all cyberpunk rpgs which is that they tend to land more on the 'power-fantasy romp' end of the powerscale in a genre that wants to be on the 'cheat kill and steal just to make rent' end of things
