Just started watching the show. I seem to be identifying more locations than I did in the first season. I feel like every location in the series is a specific location in the game that you can visit, but that in the second season, they're focusing on quest areas. Like that Arasaka heist, it's the place with the floats. Every choom who's played the game knows that location well, I think. Then Roman's home? Reminds me of the place where you pick up the guy in the freezer, for the gonk in Afterlife who wants to bypass the fixers. There's something else I did in the upper levels, but I can't recall what. I think it's just a police/crime spot.

I haven’t played the game yet, so should I do that first before watching this?

  • They're unrelated, and to each other. That is, you could watch Edgerunners II before Edgerunners and it wouldn't matter. They're unrelated, as is the book V narrates the audiobook for. "No" something, I forget. And the game is unrelated to all of it.

Though, there are similarities. Edgerunners II starts with some gonks (idiots) stealing a computer chip from Arasaka, a corporation based in Japan. The game starts similarly. But they aren't the same story at all.

If anything, you might wanna hold off on the game until after the series, because the game has added elements of the series over time. You can find references and do things related to the series, which implies the series takes place before the game. But none of them spoil the others.
