This reminds me of a conversation I had with my son's grade school teacher. My son was (is still) school smart. As such, he was smart and a part of the "gifted program." Gifted program meant little at his school.

During parent-teacher night I spoke with his teacher. Normal stuff. Then I asked what I could do help him do better with his gifted status.

Her response was simple. Take him everywhere.

That's exactly what I did. I would find any free event and take him and my nephews. No matter what the event was they were happy.
