    They can't see it because they are back in hibernation until the next bi-yearly election ritual. Of course, they don't have object permanence either so it'll be like we're only doing this during their election season.

    I've been thinking about this, and how we're described in .world as a seething cauldron of toxicity and hate, makes me think about the parallels between this and how liberals in the past would describe a new socialist country, or an indigenous resistance before that. Just a combination of telephone game, projection/hermeneutics of suspicion, and crucially "I only encounter these people when I am fighting them but I assume that must be their vibe all the time."
