One of the first people I really noticed getting popular specifically for crowd work was Stavvy, who's based and funny as fuck. Imagine my surprise when I went to see him live and there wasn't a single bit of crowd work, his opener did a little bit but he didn't work the crowd at all. It was still a great show and he's hilarious.
