Okay, so I know that a lot of venture capital or whatever likes to buy a company then just turn it into a husk of its former self, but how the hell do these companies profit from this shit?

I'm 100% convinced it's the sports. Anything sports related (the big ones) becomes a racket, completely dominated by wealth extraction, perpetuated by the general populations insatiable desire for sportsball...

For them they get FIFA 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005... Etc etc repeat for every other major sport. The difference between them? The rosters.... Easy money and people buy them every year over and over every year.

So easy to just crank out microtransactions and DLC for, too. I feel like they're gonna jump on connecting the sports game franchises with all the rampant online sports gambling any minute now, despite all that progress we've made against gambling addiction mechanics in the past.

The actual companies don't profit, the investors and executives take all of the money and the company collapses and gets sold as just a brand name that owns some other recognizable brand names that have also been destroyed
