I have a big no soliciting sign on my door, when sales people knock anyway I make it a point to waste as much of their time as I can and not buy anything.

I'm a salesperson. Whenever I have time to kill before my next appointment, I like to knock on doors with "No Soliciting" signs. The sign means probably no other salesperson has talked to them in a while so their credit isn't tied up with a loan on a Kirby or something.

Half the time, the people in there know they like to waste their money on stupid shit, that's why the sign is there, and I end up selling them something.

Worst case, I get to waste their time and warm up a bit before the real sale.

I keep a water gun filled and primed next to my front door for this exact reason.

They didn't say what was IN the water gun.
