Endorsement not always full-throated but party backing marks major turn after bitter split over nomination Facing a barrage of extreme attacks from Donald Trump and his allies, the Democratic establishment is finally rallying around progressive Abdul El-Sayed, the party’s candidate in the closely-watched US Senate election in Michigan. But the endorsement is not always full-throated, and often even omits his name. At a rally in Port Huron on Sunday, the US president launched the latest in a wave of Islamoph...

the Democratic establishment is finally rallying around progressive Abdul El-Sayed,

"Finally" as in almost 3 months ago?

Literally as soon as we'd want the party endorsing any candidate, because any earlier would have been during the primary.

Like, "the democratic establishment" is literally the DNC...

Lol no. El-Sayed won the primary in spite of the DNC - not because of it. The DNC rallied hard around Haley Stevens. They retaliated against El-Sayed for his uncommitted stance om Biden. The DNC sat idly by as their AIPAC donors shelled out incredible amounts for El-Sayed's competition. He got the cold shoulder from leading Democrats like Gretchen Whitmer, Gary Peters, and Hillary Scholten

This press release you shared is merely the turning point where the DNC went from quietly rooting against him to actually needing him to win for hopes of a blue wave. It is highly misleading to quote the DNC's boilerplate "Congrats" memo as proof they were in his corner.

I do recall Kamala and other establishment Dems going to a rally a while back and everyone here just getting salty about how she's riding coat tails. I understand the skepticism but SOME have supported for longer than this last week.

It's never good enough. Anything that challenges their narrative is dismissed. It's true that establishment Democrats have definitely gotten comfortable being Republican-lite, but that is not the entire party and it is shifting a little bit at a time. And people who are jaded or have an agenda want to dismiss it but we are seeing progress in real time.
