12 Monkeys s2e5 "Bodies of Water"

After finishing Fringe, decided to watch 12 Monkeys, since writer/director Terry Matalas wrote season 3 of Picard. Not to mention cramming the 3 male leads into various parts. Most notably Todd Stashwick (Deacon) as Captain Shaw. Unsurprisingly, Matalas is doing similar with his work on VisionQuest. Better than expected so far.

Star Trek died with Enterprise.

I still can't believe they cancelled it just before the Romulan War. If nothing else I'm sure that would have driven up ratings.

Well, Enterprise had a lot more "meh" and bad episodes than good. The problems where nearly every episode ended up in an action set piece started there, and it seemed like the writers and showrunners only started to care in the final season, which was a little too late.

Also, Enterprise was... Uncomfortably horny at times.

Right, I'm not sure they would have done it well but you can't argue that television audiences at the time would have loved a good war arc. And yeah... let's not talk about the decon chamber lol. Remember when they tried to put the doctor in there to make it seem more legitimate? Those toenails will forever haunt my nightmares.

Wasn't the Xindi arc basically a war arc already?

Really, Enterprise should've focused on the challenges of exploring space with limited resources, instead of trying to make each season about some sort of war (temporal cold war too), or finding new enemies to shoot at.

If the writers and runners knew what they were doing they would've given us a few seasons of environmental problem solving, and cultural frictions, and showing more of the politics between what would later become the founding members of The Federation, and THEN start a war. The Romulan war.

We'd suddenly see a good reason why ships of exploration are so well armed since then.
