Seems like an over reaction, unless the idea of boning had been brought up and rejected prior. Then it'd probably sting a bit.

You're entirely correct.

The only problem is, you're applying logic and real human empathy, to an imaginary story, meant to draw upon the self-pity and jealousy of incels, in order to get engagement.
