The problem with suing a leopard after it has eaten your face is even if you win you still had your face eaten.

Isn't that how we, as principled third party Leopard Observers, usually end up feeling about the Leopards?

Sometimes I find myself having a small amount of sympathy for the person who got their face eaten. Not a lot mind you, but often it's a relatively normal person who made a really stupid choice and are reaping what they have sown.

In this case? None at all.

(Edited to add: I also posted my comment because someone else said they wanted to watch the movie, and I think more people should know what kind of person Sacha is)

I'm fully with ya there, though this is also the first that I'm hearing of Cohen's ethnocentrism. Could you share some non-prop sources to help out?

Not that I particularly want to go down that rabbit hole, frankly, but I'd much rather do so w/o having to filter 99.99% of the internet to get to the crux. 😅

I'm not going to pretend to be unbiased in this, just so you know. I'm Palestinian myself.

Sacha Baron Cohen has not recently explicitly called himself a Zionist, however the pattern of behaviour (in my opinion) is clear.

Described as very Zionist in this article. https://www.timesofisrael.com/the-nerd-factor-in-sacha-baron-cohens-past/

In general, he uses pretty racist stereotypes about Arabs in general. i.e. The Dictator, Ali G, Borat, etc. (it's a known tactic that when calling something anti-semitic isn't enough to stave off reputational damage to Israel, stoking Islamophobia or anti-Arab racism is another tactic Zionists reach for https://www.dropsitenews.com/p/leaked-israel-reputation-survey-research-mark-penn-stagwell )

He conflates criticism of Israel with anti-semitism, and lobbied for tiktok to be taken over by Larry Ellison for being too pro-Palestine. (The NYT reporting on Palestine is atrocious, and so is this article's slant, but I'm linking it anyway) https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/16/technology/tiktok-jewish-open-letter-antisemitism.html

Works/worked with the ADL, who also conflate criticism of Israel with anti-semitism and are pro-Israel https://www.adl.org/resources/article/following-sacha-baron-cohens-speech-here-adls-short-list-social-media-accounts

Co-writers of his include Lee Kern, openly a Zionist.

He twists and misleads people about Palestinians: https://v2.courthousenews.com/palestinian-grocer-sues-sacha-baron-cohen/

Hopefully that justifies my point of view enough for you.
