Immich is pretty simple to set up. They even provide a docker compose and env file to be customised. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] LeighWeighTacoma@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (4 children) Maybe I'm just stupid but I couldn't figure out how to install docker on mint. I gave up after searching several different issues. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] twoBrokenThumbs@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 child) You're not the only one. I'm not sure why I had such issues on mint but on other platforms it "just installed". Sometimes things aren't as easy as they seem, or they aren't documented well. Hence I like tutorials as another source (to be clear I say another source as we should always look at the source documentation) permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] LeighWeighTacoma@lemmy.world 1 point 2 weeks ago That makes me feel better lol permalink fedilink source parent [–] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 point 2 weeks ago (1 child) https://www.linuxtechi.com/how-to-install-docker-on-linux-mint/ permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] LeighWeighTacoma@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago Thank you! Immich being one of them. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] iamnotme@feddit.uk 1 point 2 weeks ago (1 child) Are you using Ubuntu snaps? I’m guessing you probably are. Try this guide https://www.w3tutorials.net/blog/how-to-remove-a-snap-application-docker-completely/ If you want a nice GUI to manage your containers I can recommend Arcane https://getarcane.app/ permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zip 1 point 2 weeks ago I'm pretty sure I avoided getting the snap version, I remember reading that that part wasn't what I wanted, and docker isn't in my snap list. I think it's a permissions issue. It doesn't seem to care if I pass it in my puid/guid. Or change permissions on the folder it created permalink fedilink source parent
