Welcome to LemND
This is a community to play-by-post games. This is an experiment. Idk if it'll work or not but we'll figure it out together! Also this is my first time DM'ing but I have lots of books! I envision this community to be where I (and maybe other Dungeon Masters in the future) run pbp games. This is in the context of DnD 5e because that's what I know. But I don't see why you wouldn't be able to run any TTRPG style game in this format.
How it works
A DM will make a thread describing the setting. They will then comment on that thread describing where the current player(s) are and whats around. Players will then reply with what they want to do and the DM will ask for rolls or describe what happens. Repeat ad infinitum.
Players should also create a thread describing they're character and any backstory they wish.
Getting Started
Hop right in! Don't worry about joining an adventure late. DM's will fold you into the story no problem!
As a player
- Create a level 1 character using DnD 5e rules or see the quickstart section below.
- Make a thread describing your character and stats. Link to a character sheet if you have one.
- Find a game thread denoted by "[DM] ..." and begin playing by commenting what you intend to do on the OP's comment.
- Enjoy!
Info: don't be afraid to ask the DM for help in character creation! See this thread for help
!IMPORTANT! Describing your character's thread should start with your character's name. ie Sir Diceroller of Tableland
Player Quickstart
No character creation necessary. Just pick a class and comment in a [DM] post!
Choose a class and let your DM know. They will make you a character:
-or-
Create a character at DnDBeyond and link the character sheet in your post (screenshot your choices if you don't want to make an account)
As a DM
- Create a thread starting with "[DM]" and the name of your game or setting.
ie [DM] The Kingdom of Fantisticlies
- In the body describe the setting and whatever else you want.
- Comment on the thread describing where you'd like your players to begin their adventure and what is around them.
- Its also a good idea to include some meta information about your setting like:
- how common is magic?
- is magic well understood?
- is the world explored or wild?
- is the world young or ancient?
- how dangerous is the world?
!IMPORTANT! game threads should be labelled with "[DM]"
