Are you by any chance describing Adaptive Driving Beam headlights? I believe they've been in available in the EU for quite some time, but only allowed in the US since 2022.

    No the fact that LED lights can be better focused go for both Matrix and standard LED headlights.
    Our own car has Matrix lights, but that's still way way in the minority. However we do have 90+% adoption rate of EV, so we have a lot of cars with LED headlights.
