The reason I am asking is because the admins don't remove spam and the version they are using is old.

Which make me ask, why even open an instance on the Fediverse if you are not going to keep it updated and spam free?

Over the long-term this has the potential to harm the Fediverse and take money out of the other Piefed instance admins that keep their instances updated and spam free.

When will .world admins start caring about the Piefed instance?

Any update about updating the Piefed instance?

The current instance version is becoming ancient: https://codeberg.org/rimu/pyfedi/releases

No quick answer, but i've passed it on. I do know there are still some issues affecting availability, so it may yet be a little bit, I'm sorry to say - please feel free to poke me again in a week or two, but hopefully you might not have to. :)

Minor update: No promise on timeline, but it is known and is on the list, things just haven't allowed for time yet. "Soonish" has a wide range of meanings, but it will be "soonish" rather than "way laterish" or never, soooooo, please do continue to be patient :)

(It's more involved than just an update, but also requires a bit of code review, that's one reason for the delay)

Thank you for your patience and for the poke. I know that real world has keep the coupld of folks that might do this busy recently. I don't know if there's a reason other than that for the delay, but it's probably just that. I'm poking them again on it, which is what I can do.
