A U.S. diplomat sparked outrage after being accused of having “repeatedly suppressed or significantly revised” reporting to paint the Israeli government “in a favorable light,” including by “stonewalling” lawmakers’ probes into Israeli killings of Americans, the New York Times reported.

That diplomat is David Milstein, a top aide to U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, and according to three U.S. officials who spoke with the Times on the condition of anonymity, Milstein “stymied embassy reporting” on Israeli settler violence and “suppressed” a detailed embassy report on recent Israeli killings of Americans in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

“NYT reports that a Huckabee top aide is a literal traitor, actively covering up Israeli killings of American citizens and falsifying embassy reports about Israel’s role in settler violence,” wrote Jasper Nathaniel, an independent journalist who reports on Israeli settler violence in the West Bank.

Huckabee is a weird xtian Zionist though, isn't he?

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/2/23/what-is-christian-zionism-us-envoy-beliefs-about-israels-mena-expansion

According to ChristianZionism.org, a website run by professors, pastors and leaders of church-related organisations, four themes can be found in Christian Zionist thought: One, the founding of today’s nation-state of Israel in 1948 marked the final human era and signals an end of times. Two, the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is a part of God’s plan with a great and final war preceding the second coming of Christ. Three, God’s covenant with Israel is eternal and unconditional. And four, failing to support Israel’s political dominance today will incur divine judgement.

What a freakish belief system.

Bush W is one of them as well, he tried to use the biblical prophecy about that final war to convince France to support the Iraq war. Except they (the french president + his advisers) at first didn't know what the hell he was talking about, and once they did, they were dreaded by the knowledge that the USA was being governed by religious nut jobs. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/andrewbrown/2009/aug/10/religion-george-bush

I wish they'd just end themselves and save us all the drama and bullshit.

Others have to die for them to be saved. It can't be as easy as them all offing themselves or the religion would work itself out in one generation. Others die so they can keep making excuse after excuse for their savior not showing up until the next appointed time.

Yeah, he's so arrogant that he thinks that human actions can force God's hand and bring about the Apocalypse, which he believes will happen in accordance with fundie late-19th-century fanfic.

I mean, if God was real, then those last two points would probably be accurate, him being the Jewish god and all (and the first two might be, too, given he was their war god back when they were polytheistic).

I know that. Hence the words ‘if’ and ‘was’. I was just pointing out that if their delusion was true, that four-part statement wasn’t that out there since the actual biblical ‘god’ is a murderous, violent asshole.

In fact, it’s sadly a lot closer to the described ‘god’ than the current Christian ‘god loves everyone’ aesthetic that’s going around.
