Wondering how long term cognitive damage from covid is, whether it is possible to fullly recover or if there will always be permanent deficits, even in relatively mild cases(but likely multiple reinfections over the years)

In my personal annecdotal experience, I've tended to recover after a few months, but I've never looked into scientific literature

Its like the sleep deprivation thing... After prolonged sleep deprivation people stop feeling tired, but there are nevertheless significant hits to various cognitive faculties, they just don't realise it... I'm concerned if covid is something similar?
