I was wondering whether this is normal and if other people have the same issue.

Since a week ago or so the app has very long loading times for the initial start up. For example; I fully exited the app and re-open it, it takes quite a while to load everything. Meanwhile my Voyager takes a few seconds to load.

Hi, thanks for posting; sorry you’re experiencing this. Some more info would be helpful to help us track this down:

  1. Are you on iOS 26 or 27?
  2. Are you on the App Store or TestFlight version?
  3. How many accounts are you logged in with?
  4. If you have multiple accounts, does it still load slowly if you switch to another account and restart Mlem?
  5. If you only have one account, try adding a guest account on a different instance. Does it still load slowly?
  6. Do you have a very large blocklist or a very large number of subscriptions (like several hundred?)

Thanks :)

    Hey! No worries and thanks for responding;

    1. I’m on IOS 26 (to be precise IOS 26.3).
    2. I’m on the TestFlight version.
    3. Just one account logged in.
    4. When I add the Guest account (it is on Feddit.nl), it loads instantly. However, when going back to my main account (this one on DB0 instance). It takes long to load again.
    5. I'm not entirely certain how many subscription I have but i assume approximately ~150? As for blocklist, I don't know how many as well but it is certainly a lot.

    My main instance, slrpnk can be very slow at times. Mlem appears to try and contact the instance and load info from it before mlem fully loads. While it is loading slowly, i usually swap to my backup account on piefed, which is almost always fast. Mlem fully loads then.
